How to post a job on OnKuwait

A listing is free after review. The point is that a seeker understands the work, the area, and how to reach you — in one read. This page is the longer version of that rule.

Create an employer account

Use Post a job, or sign in and pick an employer account. We email a code. The company name can show on the ad. Your email stays private if you prefer WhatsApp or a phone as the public contact. If you leave the phone empty, people apply through the form on the listing. That is allowed. It is often cleaner.

Opening a talent profile from the strip under the logo also requires employer sign-in, so CVs are not open to the whole internet. You see email and the PDF, not a mobile number. Do not write to us asking us to leak a phone. We will not.

Write an ad we can approve

Do not paste text from another website. Copied ads are rejected or edited. Write what is true at your site this week. If last month’s helper left, say why the hours changed. People can tell a template. Google can tell a template. We can tell a template.

Do not ask applicants for money. Not a medical fee “to start the file”, not a uniform deposit before they have seen the shop, not a visa charge collected on WhatsApp. Those ads come down. Repeat offenders lose the right to post.

  • A clear title: “Delivery driver in Salmiya” beats “Urgent needed”.
  • A duties paragraph: hours, whose car or whose kitchen, who they report to, Friday or not.
  • The area, or “all Kuwait” only if the work actually moves around.
  • Salary in KWD if you can. Hiding pay cuts serious replies and fills your WhatsApp with “salary please”.
  • Who may apply: anyone who can do the work, someone already in Kuwait, or hire from abroad — write what is true this week.

Citizens, residents, overseas — pick one story

If you want a Kuwaiti candidate, say so. If you need someone already living in Kuwait, write that. If you will hire from abroad, write that too. Mixing all of those hopes into one sentence produces fifty messages and zero hires.

Overseas hire is slower and is not something OnKuwait performs for you. If you are not ready for that paperwork, do not tick overseas to “see who appears”. People buy tickets on that tick.

After you submit

The ad is not public at once. We check language, scams, and any request for money from applicants. When it is approved it appears in the list, newest first. If we reject it you get a note. Use the manage link to switch it off when the role is filled. Leaving a filled job live is how you collect angry messages at midnight.

If you need to change the salary or the area, edit it. Do not post a second copy of the same ad. Duplicates look like spam to readers and to the systems that crawl this site.

Talent, email, paid pins

The Top talent strip is for seekers who opted in. Contact them with the email shown. Paid pins at the top of the list, or a sidebar classified, are booked on Advertise. Google ads are separate and stay labelled as ads. Buying a pin does not buy a lower review standard. A pinned scam still comes down.

Reply to people. A listing with twenty applications and zero replies trains the next twenty to ignore you. One short “position filled” is better than silence.

What we reject, and what we edit

We reject ads that ask the worker to pay. We reject ads copied from another website word for word, including the other site’s city names. We reject ads that are only “needed immediately” with no duties. We reject ads that promise a visa in seven days from an Instagram handle.

We edit titles that say nothing about the work. We may ask you to add an area. We may ask you to write whether you want someone already in Kuwait or hire from abroad. That saves fifty wasted messages in your WhatsApp.

A good ad on this board sounds like the person who will unlock the door. “Grill cook, Mahboula, Indian menu, 3 p.m. to 1 a.m., Friday off, 190, already in Kuwait.” A bad ad sounds like a telegram from 2012. Readers skip it. Our review skips it too, eventually, when the reports pile up.

If you hire a citizen, write it. If you will not, write that too. Silence here is read as “we did not think”. Job seekers in Kuwait — citizens and expats — can live with a no. They cannot live with a ghost listing that wastes a bus fare to Fahaheel.

When the role is filled, switch the ad off the same day. Leaving it live is how you collect arguments at midnight from people who took time off work to come. It is also how this site looks abandoned to anyone counting fresh pages. Newest-first only works if yesterday’s filled jobs leave the stage.

Write in the language your workers actually read. A kitchen in Mahboula can live in Arabic. A Sharq office can live in both. A title in English and a body that only exists in your head helps nobody. If you need applicants this week, put the hours, the area, and the dinars in the same paragraph you expect a stranger to trust with their Tuesday. If you cannot name those three, save the draft. The review queue is not where you finish thinking, and a half-written ad burns the attention you will need when the real one goes live. Post once. Edit if the hours change. Do not clone the same vacancy under a new title. One honest ad beats three copies. Ask once, in writing.
